Auckland Global Round

Main Venue: Q Theater

Arinex are our ground partners for the Auckland Global Round and will assist with hotel reservations for most official hotels, airport transfers, and optional tours.

Official Hotels

We encourage all participants to stay at one of our recommended hotels. All rates mentioned below are for double rooms and include taxes. Hotels are within walking distance of the Q theater.

Four Points by Sheraton | From NZ$ 179 per night.
Breakfast will be additional NZ$28 plus taxes per person.

Ground Transportation

Buses will be organized for all delegations for the debate day and there won't be any additional charges. The venues for the other events are very close to the Q theatre and do not require bussing.

Airport Transfers and Optional Tours

Airport transfers and Optional tours will be offered by our ground partners, Arinex. Optional tours include a City tour of Auckland, a tour of Hobbiton movie set as featured in the Lord of the Rings, and an excursion to Rotorua.

Rates for Tours:
Auckland City Tour
$178 per adult
$162 per child (up to 15 years)
* Lunch is not included. Lunch can be purchased at the cafe at the Auckland War Memorial. Children below 15 must carry an identity card.

Hobbiton Movie Set
$352 per adult
$292 per child (up to 15 years)
* Cost includes lunch at the Hobbiton Movie Set. Children below 15 must carry an identity card.

Rotorua – Waimangu and Agrodome
$324 per person
* Lunch is not included. Lunch can be purchased at a restaurant in the Agrodome.

All tours will be operated subject to there being a minimum of 20 participants.

Invitation Letters

If your delegation requires a specific invitation letter for visa purposes, we would be happy to issue one after your delegation registers for the Global Round. Please email us at [email protected]

Tournament of Champions Qualification

Scholars at the Auckland Global Round will have the same opportunities to qualify for the Tournament of Champions (Nov 14-20) as those of the other Global Rounds. Qualifiers will be announced at the Closing Ceremony on Sep 24. We ask that delegations who are interested in attending the ToC to keep in mind the amount of time required to organize visas, school permission, and other necessary arrangements.
